Enhance pre-event promotion and media coverage of the 2015 Australasian Oil & Gas (AOG) Exhibition and Conference held in Perth in March 2015.
Outcome
- Unprecedented oil and gas and mainstream media coverage in the lead-up to and during the 2015 AOG conference
- Management of a luncheon presentation by Western Australian oil and gas explorer Carnarvon Petroleum and media conference with key representatives from the Government of Timor-Leste
- Securing Swire Oilfield Services’ sponsorship of the AOG media room and well-attended media breakfast
- Exceptionally high and consistent usage of AOG’s media room during the 3-day conference
The Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference is one of Australia’s leading global petroleum industry events, held annually in Perth Western Australia attracting a record 620 exhibiting companies from 25 countries in 2015.
PPR WA won the contract to manage public relations and media marketing for this significant oil and gas event, which over its long history, had received little media coverage and poor mainstream media attendance.
PPR focused on re-establishing links with global oil and gas media, and generated ‘thought leadership’ and genuine news opportunities.
PPR surveyed key oil and gas and business media and petroleum industry identities, to initiate widely reported media coverage on the future of the global oil and gas sector following the collapse of the oil price.
PPR was exclusively invited to submit a proposal to manage public relations and media marketing activities for the 2016 AOG event and was awarded a contract.
